My night time skin care routine + An all natural at home beauty secret

Hello Again!

Taking care of your skin, especially after a long day of makeup on your face, and all the germs in the air...is SO important. As soon as I know I'm home for the rest of the day/night, I immediately take off my makeup, I love the feeling of a clean fresh face, and giving it that break to breathe! So below I will share the details of my night time skin care routine, along with an ALL natural beauty secret using only natural ingredients you can find in your fridge & pantry! It helps to clear skin from acne, blemishes, and uneven skin tone! And the best part is that its all natural, i love that feeling! I'm all about all natural products, especially since becoming a mother! I plan to share all of my all natural remedies that I do now, and start in the future! I hope you'll enjoy my post and please feel free to comment below with any questions!

Left to Right

Pampers Baby Wipes, unscented, I keep them in a cute huggies dispenser
Purity 3 in 1 facial cleanser -Buy at Sephora or The Bay
Nutiva Organic Virgin Coconut Oil-Natures Fare, Costco, Whole Foods
Elizabeth Grant-Miracle Face Mask
Josie Maran Argan Oil-Sephora

Details about products:

Baby Wipes: A lot of people buy the wipes specifically for removing makeup, but in my personal opinion baby wipes and makeup remover wipes are and do the exact same thing. Considering I have an endless amount for my daughter, they are used for removing my makeup as well!

Purity 3 in 1 Face Cleanser-I love this product, its a gel base which I love for facial cleansers, its a deep clean and gets the job done. I've been using it for a long time. I bought it at sephora!

Coconut Oil: Where do I even begin with this product! First of all if you don't have it already you need to get it asap! It can be used for cooking, your skin your hair, you name it! I use this product as a moisturizer for my face, and body, for my daughters bum when she has diaper rash and also for her Eczema, as a cooking oil. I want to start using it for MANY other things as well. Below I will post a couple charts I found on pinterest showing the many different ways you can use Coconut Oil. I'll post a few different pictures just to make sure I've covered all grounds! Also go to www.coconut-oil-tips.com to read about more of the benefits of using coconut oil.

Elizabeth Grant Miracle Face Mask: I actually came across this product at Winners when looking for a new face mask to try, I ended up liking it because it was just a light mask, and wasn't anything major or too thick. It's not a natural product, but I like giving myself a face mask at least once a week. I wouldn't recommend this product if you prefer a thicker, more intense face mask. I'm going to start researching and experimenting all natural at home face masks to try! Will post when I do!

Josie Maran Argan Oil- I LOVE this product, its also versatile and can be used for your face, hair, skin and nail cuticles! I use it for all of those things, and love it before I go to bed and when I wake up, it gives me a beautiful glow and makes my skin so soft. Argan Oil is also a natural product and has many wonderful benefits as well!

Tip: To keep your skin healthy drink LOTS OF WATER!

ALL NATURAL AT-HOME BEAUTY SECRET

Wondering why these 4 natural products work wonders for your skin?! Find out below...

Who knew that 4 things you can find in your fridge and pantry would be one of the best remedies for acne, blemishes, uneven skin tone, acne scarring and dead skin cells. The media gets us all hyped up about all these fancy expensive skin care products that sound and look so amazing, but the truth is, a lot of them don't even work, and they use a lot of fancy words (even fake words) to sell themselves and make us all believe they do work! I use to believe all of that, but now...I'm not buyin it! As I said before, since becoming a mother, I want to give my child the best and most safe products possible, whether it be for her skin, or what she eats! And the same now goes for me! It's gotten me more involved and interested in the all natural world, and I think everyone should give it a chance too! I could go on and on about that, but instead...try this remedy out and see for yourself! Below I will list the step by step ingredients and directions to do the "Lemon & Sugar Body/Face Scrub"

P.S I do this scrub twice a week at night

What you’ll need:
1/2 fresh lemon
1/2 cup of granulated sugar
1 tbls of olive oil
1 tbls of organic honey
1 medium sized tupperware bowl with lid
Benefits of the Ingredients:
Lemon – A natural source of Vitamin C; an ingredient commonly used to lighten sun and age spots and even out skin tone; A natural astringent that tightens pores and brightens the complexion.
Sugar – A natural exfoliator; a natural source of glycolic acid which evens out skin tone, cleans pores, and improves overall skin texture by removing dead, dull skin cells.
Olive Oil – High in Vitamin E which soothes and heals skin; a natural moisturizing ingredient often used for it’s anti-aging benefits.
Honey – A natural source of anti-oxidants making it a perfect ingredients for age preventions; a natural humectant so it locks water into the skin keeping the complexion hydrated; the antibacterial properties benefit acne-prone skin by reducing breakouts.
Instructions:
Add lemon juice and olive oil in to a bowl (I like to use tupperware as it is easy storage) until they mix together. Add the honey and wisk or stir quickly until the ingredients bind together into a medium thick consistency. You can add or subtract the amount of olive oil and honey that you use depending on how thick you want your scrub to be. I would keep the lemon to the juice of one half of a freshly cut lemon for every 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Add in the sugar and mix. If you sense that there is not enough sugar to get the scrubbing done, add a bit more. Again, this is a personal preference.
As a body scrub: Apply to body, paying extra close attention to elbows, knees, feet and hands (nails and cuticles especially) and rub in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse. Enjoy the silky softness of your impossibly smooth skin.
As a face scrub: The lemon and sugar scrub is also great for the face, but use with gentle circular motions. This scrub is ideal for people who suffer from breakouts and acne as all of the ingredients are highly beneficial to acne prone skin. Lemon tightens pores and evens out the skin tone, sugar removes dead skin cells and cleans pores, olive oil heals acne scaring, and honey prevents future breakouts.
To use, follow the same recipe instructions then apply to clean face in gentle, circular motions. Be cautious of using on open wounds as the lemon may sting. Leave on for 7-10 minutes and rinse with cool water.
There are several ways to make a lemon and sugar scrub but I have found this one to be the easiest and most effective.

I hope you'll try it and I'd love to hear how it works out for you!

Goodnight everyone!

xx

Fall Bliss

Since summer is coming to an end, I cant help but get so excited about fall!!! Not only for the fall fashion, but everything to do with fall, halloween, thanksgiving, you name it! When I think of fall I think of, wreaths, leaves, big knit sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, gold, candles and everything in between. It's to me, next to christmas the best time of year! I love being able to layer my clothing with all the fab fall fashion, and to cuddle up with a hot cup of tea and a book under a big faux fur throw! It's the combination of the changes in weather, home decor, fashion and of course the latte menu at starbucks! lol! Its just the simple things!
Anyway, in honor of fall coming before we know it, I made a cute little inspiration board of just a few of the things I love and look forward to in fall.
The links to where you can purchase these items are below this lovely collage courtesty of polyvore

Enjoy, and check back very soon for a fall fashion post!

Currently Obsessing Over...

Hello my followers!!!

Anyone who knows me knows that before fashion or anything else, I'm obsessed with home decor! It's my passion, and therefore and I am so excited to share my current obsession over...leopard print decorative pillows!
Leopard print has always been a timeless print, when used properly. Whether it be for fashion, or home decor, its a classic! Never did I think to use it as a decorative pillow on my couch, or in any of my rooms for that matter, until I came across a picture on Pinterest (go figure). It's amazing how one dramatic printed pillow can totally change a room and make it so glam & chic. Whether it be a simple room with a lot of white and creams, or a dramatic room with lots of color and warmth. I debated actually getting some pillow shams made to make it a reality in my living room until yesterday, they are being made and I can't wait to see how they look in my living room! In the meantime, I'm going to share some pictures of gorgeous rooms I found via pinterest, with the exact same print I'm doing or if not very close to! I hope you'll enjoy and be inspired just like I was! And I of course will be sharing my living room with you once my pillows are done! Ill be sharing a lot of photos, to show how many amazing ways there are to incorporate a fun print such as leopard!

Enjoy!

The first picture below is what got my attention and sold me!
